The WIB of Southwest Missouri hosted workforce leaders from the state level and all 14 regions across Missouri for an association called TEAM, which is Training and Employment Administrators of Missouri.  In addition to the association’s regular business, the group designed a vision and priorities for a customer-focused Career Center system.

Joplin not only hosted the session, but provided a local flavor of strategy facilitiation as well.  SW MO WIB Chairperson Gary Little, CEO of Little Enterprises in Seneca, served as the moderator for the strategy event.

The group convened at the WIB’s headquarters in Joplin for the two-day event held Thursday and Friday, July 16th and 17th.  TEAM members and state-level leaders from the Division of Workforce Development established a strong foundation for re-engineering the Career Center system at the meeting.   Additional input from frontline staff over the coming weeks, combined with additional action step planning in August, will ultimately come together for review by Missouri’s state-level WIB in September.
